President Medina appoints Manuel Diez as member of the CNC Advisory Committee

The president of Diesco Group, Manuel Diez Cabral, has been appointed by the President of the Dominican Republic, Lic. Danilo Medina, as honorary member of the National Competitiveness Council (CNC) Advisory Committee. This advisory body was created for the purpose of sharing information and providing answers on the challenges faced by the various productive sectors in the Dominican Republic aiming at improving competitiveness.

Together with Mr. Diez, other 37 businessmen and nine ministers were sworn to create the Council, as provided under Decree 389-17. All this took place during the first ordinary session, chaired by President Medina, who noted that the pillars of a Competitive Dominican Republic are trade facilitation and formalization, plus exports and productivity, innovation and more employment.

The new strategy will consist in actions intended to streamline the Dominican productive sectors, which will have a positive impact on the performance of the country’s economy and the world indexes assessing competitiveness levels, all this through the above mentioned pillars.
